The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
Crafted by visual novel enthusiast The Bee’s Knees, A Day In The Life Of A Slice Of Bread is a wild roller coaster of hope and dreams. As you might imagine, you play through the life of a meager slice of bread, but fasten your belt and prepare yourself for an adventure far and beyond.
When you pick up a game titled A Day In The Life Of A Slice Of Bread you tend to have expectations: ‘how exciting could this possibly be?’, ‘I’m going to be made into toast, right? A sandwich? Dehydrated and made into crumbs? all viable options for any normal slice of bread.
This game follows through on some of those expectations but bring so much more to the table offering moment of both joy and sadness, hilarity and distress, for an experience more memorable and thought invoking than most triple A titles could even hope to accomplish.
Jump to No Conclusions
The story is built skillfully from a simple concept and then expands with each decision the player makes and doesn’t make the mistake of taking itself too seriously.
Each experience is authentic and leads you down a unique path; whether that path be toward your inevitable doom or ultimate success.
This game presents, perfectly, the genius of video games in bringing together numerous artistic mediums into one and providing a one stop solution for entertainment. From the music, to the art style, to the voice acting and direction, this game is a treat for all players and a break from the expectations of modern gaming.
Simple And Clean
A Day In The Life Of A Slice of Bread does a fantastic job in accomplishing exactly what it set out to do. It tells a tale and allows that tale to shape the character along its path. It is an honest and memorable experience, one that captures the player and provides flawless entertainment. This game is a work of art and I would recommend it to everyone. My only complaint: I wish there were more.
